Last month, my friend and fellow New Media classmate Becca asked if I wanted to collaborate on a fashion video featuring Lunar Descent. I’ve been admiring her videos and watching them evolve over the past couple of years and was excited to work with her. :]
All I did was make the clothing and give a little bit of styling direction, and Becca did the rest. She had clear ideas and was great at directing (something I’m still trying to learn!) our lovely model, Tara. It was awesome working with both of you guys, thanks so much! I couldn’t have asked for a better first video to represent Lunar Descent. ♥
Shooting, directing and editing were all done by Becca Gore. You can view her video portfolio here
Clothing featured (like the holographic cap) is available at Lunar Descent
And finally, here are a couple of photos I snapped during the shoot using 35mm film~
Toast, Toast and more Toast
Just finished this as the most recent project for my time arts class. I only had a few days to shoot and edit this (while also working on other projects), so please excuse the not-so-perfect collaging! c;
Also, the original is widescreen but I couldn’t figure out how to get it to upload to youtube as widescreen. And I am too sleepy to care anymore, haha..
This is a short project I did for Time Arts earlier this week. The assignment was called “frankenstein” and called for us to use the puppet tool to animate something.
I’m not completely satisfied with the timing and animation but.. by 1:40 am I was too tired to keep going, haha.
The Toast pieces I cut out for the puppet were pretty creepy though~
Apartment Tour :D
Ughh, still hate being in videos.. :x
Zooey Deschanel & Joseph Gordon-Levitt - What Are You Doing New Years Eve?
I rarely reblog things anymore. But it’s a duet (I love duets), and has Zooey Deschanel and is such a sweet little song that I just couldn’t help it~
For my final video project this semester I chose to compare independent businesses with companies that take advantage of, or ruin, independent businesses (i.e. urban outfitters). I included Urban Outfitters specifically because they are well known for ripping off designs of independent artists and mass producing their work.
During critique my professor mentioned how the factory imagery immediately makes him, though maybe not everyone, automatically think of issues regarding factory conditions (I think he liked the video though :o ).
Personally I was trying to represent how a big company with the power of mass-production is prone to bad business practices (stealing work from artists) and hurting independent businesses. I’m thinking of re-editing it with different footage so that my message might be clearer.. not sure what kind of footage that will be yet though.
Sound and found-footage credits are listed in the description on the youtube page. :]
And this was my last project this semester!! I have two finals still but I’m not as worried about those yay. c;
