Recently I mentioned how I wanted to get more into modeling.. I feel like it’s a really good way to gain confidence with meeting new people and being more comfortable in new situations.
This past weekend I got the opportunity to work with Andre of Madk!n!. He designs and creates avante-garde clothing and jewelry out of wood, fabric and metal, and also shoots his own photos!
It was my first time modeling for someone I didn’t already know in person. But Andre was very friendly and relaxed, and I could tell he knew how to work with models and was quite professional. I wasn’t nearly as nervous as I thought I would be, and that’s saying a lot! (I can be very anxious sometimes, which is exactly why I’m putting myself into these situations~ )
My good friend Melissa of 8bitclassics did my makeup and was my moral support! ♥
I’m so in love with how the photos turned out so far! Can’t wait to see more of them. c;

My friend Alejandra started working on a series of photos last year and I volunteered to model for one of them. I was so nervous even though we already knew each other, haha. I don’t want to explain much (because I don’t want to butcher it :p ), but I think the photos revolve around the theme of vulnerability~
Oh and the sweater is Alejandra’s, it matched my hair perfectly at the time. xD
I think my favorite from the set is the one below.. but I can’t decide. :o

Her photos are so..clean? I really love them~

Chubby Bunny x Spank! Fashion Show at Sweet Streets - Part 2

Part 1 is here, I won’t repeat much to save space on your dashboards. ;p

So on November 19th I got the amazing opportunity to model for the Spank! and Chubby Bunny fashion show at the Sweet Streets: Art Exhibition. :D Here is a photo of all the models in the dressing room just before the show… (Photos watermarked “Tadatime.com” are by Dave Tada.)

So much pastel, and I got to meet so many awesome, creative people. c;

Here is Yume clearing the runway before the show (I think at least, my dad took this photo so I can’t know for sure :p He also took the rest of the photos with the szmoon.net watermark~). There were too many people for capactiy so a lot of them had to wait outside. :c

The show begins! Michelle of Chubby Bunny and Tavuchi of Spank!

The models went out in pairs in five different themes. Kellie and India went first as the Cheerleader Girls. They had such fun poses each time they stopped~

Next cam Shannie and Bryanna as the Candy Girls! The passed out Sweet Streets chocolates to the audience.

Ahh! Anneline and I were third as the Bubble Girls. I was soooooo nervous I don’t think I can even explain how much.

(I’ve kind of explained in the past how terrified I am of public speaking.. but over the past year I have been trying to make myself more confident. Especially in the past half year I’ve been purposely putting myself into situations I’m uncomfortable/terrified of to make myself less scared.. I think it might be working little by little??)

But anyway, here’s me and Anneline! :D

Blowing bubbles~~

And another photo of us, sorry. ;p

Next came Sydney and Amanda as the Pop Idol Girls. They looked like they walked right out of the Jem tv show (I haven’t actually watched it before). Their hair colors went perfectly with their outfits. I think this is one of my favorite photos that my dad took…

And finally it was Mandy and Sandy as the Unicorn Girls. c; I think their outfits were my absolute favorite. It’s kind of hard to see in this photo but they both have rainbow unicorn neck wraps. *o*

And then we all came out again and popped party poppers~ I chose this photo since Tavuchi and Michelle looked like they were having so much fun, haha.

Afterward we went outside for the people who weren’t able to get in yet. I love these photos, so much rainbow pastel…

And that’s the end of part 2. :] The next and last post about Sweet Streets will be about everything after the runway show. c;

Chubby Bunny x Spank! Fashion Show at Sweet Streets - Part 1

(link to Part II)

Somehow I got the amazing opportunity to model for Spank! and Chubby Bunny this past Saturday at the Sweet Streets: Art Exhibition opening. The day was a blur of rainbow pastel colors, nervousness and new friends! I met so many awesome, talented people and gained so many new experiences. c;

I realized that I have too many photos in one post, so I’m going to split the day into three parts: before the show, the fashion show itself and after the show. :] Let’s start on Part 1, the preparation for the fashion show!

So before I booked my flight, my dad decided to come with me. This turned out to be a good things because apparently you can’t rent cars until you are 25, and not having to deal with public transit saved me some stress during the busy weekend! He had the idea of taking a photo of me on the way to my first “real” modeling job.. we are silly sometimes (silly because I had to turn around and walk back in order to get the shot). :p

After I arrived to WWA Gallery, I got to meet some of the other models who had already gotten there. :D I was a little nervous at first, but everyone was so friendly and we started bonding pretty quickly~

After the models all got there, we started our first rehearsal for the show. We’re wearing the hairbows so that we can practice with their weight (photo below by Kellie Dot Jpg). ;p The pastel begins!

Here’s Michelle trying to decide on how the bubbles will work~ My partner Anneline and I were the Bubble Girls, so we used them during the show (photo below by Kellie Dot Jpg).

First practice!

The Bubble Punch boombox! (super fangirling, haha…)

Sandy and Anneline looking at the display of pieces by Onch Movement and Shojono Tomo in the gallery.

Kaytea and Kazu of [a]narchy start working on everyone’s hair. They did so many creative styles throughout the day, my favorites were when they added colorful extensions. :]]

Here are “before” photos of Anneline and me! ;p

Amanda getting her makeup done as one of the Pop Idol Girls~ The makeup artists were using Sugarpill Cosmetics (so bright and lovely!). :] I loved the colors in this photo..

Sydney and her Pop Idol Girl makeup. :] I found out later that day that she’s also studying New Media, so cool haha.

The Pop Idol Girls all dressed up~

I think the Unicorn Girls (Sandy and Mandy, below) had my favorite outfits.They both had rainbow unicorn wraps! *o*

Shannie, Mandy and Bryanna being fierce.

Look at all our leggings and shoes~~

Anneline and I were some of the last to get our hair and makeup done (which might have been good because it meant I didn’t have as much time to touch my face and ruin all their pretty work :p ). Here is our “after” photo!

And that’s the end of Part 1, whooo! This day was so lovely, it’s fun reliving it through blogging. c; I’ll work on getting parts 2 and 3 up soon~

While backing up what few files I had left before reinstalling my computer, I came across this photo that I edited but never uploaded. I don’t really remember editing it actually. :p

You’ll probably be seeing more and more skeletal/bat/halloween posts as the month goes on, haha..
