After my mom saw the zebra duct tape on my platform shoes yesterday she wanted her own pair of duct tape shoes. Specifically, Hello Kitty duct tape. We saw it awhile ago at target but couldn’t find any reason to buy it ($5.99 a roll!), until now that is. ;p

Over the summer I actually did promise my mom I’d decorate a pair of black wedges for her. It’s a little late but… here they are!

Here’s the before shot along with the supplies I used (not much :p ). Still deciding if I’m going to spray the heels with a gloss coating to protect the tape better…

First outfit with my newly completed platforms! I have the feeling these shoes are going to be a lot of fun to match with outfits.

This outfit makes me feel like one of the dancers in the party rock anthem music video. I don’t think I mind though?..

Platforms were made by me, screenprinted Sin Kitten crop top available for sale here, jeans were $5.20 from JC Penny. And I’ve been wearing the flannel shirt, altered from forever21, for at least 4 years non-stop (you’ve probably seen it in a lot of my webcam photos, haha..).

One of my goals for 2012 is to do an outfit post at least once a week. Let’s see if it happens.. :p

Oh and before anyone asks, that is my actual room at my parents house. I painted it a bunch of colors throughout the years. ;p

Not quite finished yet, but this is the first time I’ve gotten to try them on! Platform sneakers~~

Charlotte Free was selling a pair of platform sneakers in my size but I couldn’t afford them.. but it was just the push I needed to start making my own pair. :p I’ve been meaning to do this for at least a year now. And after seeing Yume Ninja’s awesome pair I wanted to make them even more.

I still have to sand and tape them, but almost there! Originally I was going to use black duct tape but now after seeing how pretty the shoes are being colorful, I might go with hot pink zebra-striped duct tape instead..

Annie Spandex has a great tutorial on platfor shoes in case anyone is interested in making their own pair. :]

Oh, and this is the before shot. :D I think I got these shoes for $10 at TJ Max years ago while shopping with Melissa and Julie..

It went from 95 degrees to 68 in one night and it made me want to try on my comfy sweaters. Shoes made by me, sweater thrifted for $5. :]

I think I was gluing from around 2 or 3 pm all the way to 11 pm today. And that was just today’s gluing. I re-did one of the sides two or three times before I was happy with it…

I’ll do a better photo later, I’m just super excited for now..

I realized after gluing half a shoe that the flowers don’t show up well at all against the colored rhinestones. I had a hunch that this might happen but I love color so much I thought I’d give it a try… my bad. :p

Really wanted to use the flowers, but I don’t quite like how they look with the silver (the silver’s not actually glued in the photo)..

I’m really considering just pulling the flowers out completely (and save them for something better), since I loveee the look of just colored rhinestones. But I also absolutely hate doing the same thing twice, and my old shoes were done that way just with a slightly different style shoe.

Any suggestions (completely new ideas are welcome toooo)?

My mom bought me this pair of shoes from forever21 with the understanding/agreement that I would decorate the pair she bought for herself as well… This is going to take a while but I think it will be completely worth it. ;p

The last pair of shoes I did took around 10 hours haha… D;
