Working on new items for Lunar Descent ~ ~
Last month, my friend and fellow New Media classmate Becca asked if I wanted to collaborate on a fashion video featuring Lunar Descent. I’ve been admiring her videos and watching them evolve over the past couple of years and was excited to work with her. :]
All I did was make the clothing and give a little bit of styling direction, and Becca did the rest. She had clear ideas and was great at directing (something I’m still trying to learn!) our lovely model, Tara. It was awesome working with both of you guys, thanks so much! I couldn’t have asked for a better first video to represent Lunar Descent. ♥
Shooting, directing and editing were all done by Becca Gore. You can view her video portfolio here
Music was provided by Eric Simmons of Goblin Colors
Clothing featured (like the holographic cap) is available at Lunar Descent
And finally, here are a couple of photos I snapped during the shoot using 35mm film~

So, these past few weeks I’ve been secretly busy on a new project… trying to perfect these holographic baseball caps. :D
Making baseball caps turned out to be as challenging as I expected, haha. I’ve broken a ton of needles so far, and have done a bunch of tests to try and figure out the perfect materials and hat shape. But it was worth it. I’m so happy with how the final one turned out!~

I’ll be taking photos of the hats tomorrow, and they’ll hopefully be up for sale in my clothing store, Lunar Descent, soon after that. :]

And don’t forget, there are only a couple of days left before the Lunar Descent Instagram Giveaway ends (more details here) and the winner is chosen!
I’ve been so genuinely happy working on Lunar Descent since it officially launched at the beginning of the year. Thanks everyone for your support and friendship online~ ♥
I finally found the time to make a varsity jacket! I’ve been wanting to make one all of last semester, but I just didn’t get a chance until winter vacation (thank goodness we have such long breaks in college!).

Still not quite comfortable with my new hair.. but hopefully I’ll get used to it soon haha~
Here’s a close up of my favorite part, the back. :D I used a heavyweight printable, iron-on fabric for the moon and iron-on letters from Michaels. Even though they were iron-on, I still sewed them on to make sure they’d last longer.

A lot of collecting went into the materials for this jacket. So much thanks go to a local store called the I.D.E.A. Store. I managed to find the sewing pattern at the bottom of a barrel (a literal barrel!) of patterns, and because it only cost $1 a pound I saved $18+ from not having to find one online!
I also found the mint zipper over there, and plan on donating a few boxes of supplies to them when I get back to school to show my appreciation. :]

And last but not least, my boyfriend gave me a blank baseball cap for Christmas because he knew I’d been wanting to decorate one (so thoughtful no??). The “omni” isn’t permanently attached since I was just trying it out for now~

I’m going to miss all my winter free time once classes start up again.. but only one semester to go and I’ll be done with school for LIFE (unless of course I decide to go back later for grad school, but that would be farr in the future haha).
As always, feel free to send me messages if you have any questions about my projects or want to make your own~ ♥
A quick outfit post before my final day of classes tomorrow~ :D
I handpainted the floppy disk on a $4 thrifted sweatshirt using Tulip Soft Fabric paint. :]

And today I did my first ever successful hair hair bow! c; Which wasn’t ideal for 30 degree weather (no hat wearing, haha), but worth it.

And look how well the Onch Movement x Sanrio pretzel necklace matches these splatter Black Milk leggings! The leggings are from a trade with Mynx Midnight while I was visiting LA~

And those are all the blurry webcam photos I have for now haha. Hope everyone else’s finals and projects are going well (we’re almost done whooo)! ♥
Here are the shots from our Die Antwoord photoshoot! Can’t believe it took me this long to post them… we took them not too long after Halloween at the beginning of November. :o
In January 2012, my roommate Caro and I decided that for Halloween, we were going to be Yolandi and Ninja from the short film, Umshini Wam. And over 10 months later that’s just what we did. :]
This is what the two of them looked like in the original film:

And here’s how our costumes turned out!~
Both kigurumis (the Pikachu and Gloomy Bear jumpers) were sewn by me. Caro made her Ninja headband and yin-yang shirt, and I made my pink ZEF shirt (tutorial here) and smiley face shorts. c;
All of these super-awesome photos were taken by our friend Hugh (thank you so much! :D). The rest of them can be seen in this Flickr gallery~
