about wireless camera remotes
I finally ordered a new wireless remote for my camera. :] There were a couple problems with the previous remote:
- It didn’t work reliably, even when it was newly purchased.
- It stopped working at all after not too long
- The camera I purchased it for was stolen (long story)
I don’t remember exactly what brand/model remote I got the first time. I do remember however that it was around $8, looked a lot like this remote, and worked with the Canon T2i.
After having my new camera (luckily replaced by the friends who had it stolen!) for a few months, I finally decided to get a new remote. This time I carefully read through reviews and spent a little more. I ended up with this remote by Cowboy Studio for $21, which works with the Canon G12.
And it works like a charm! I had to click my old remote over and over and over and maybe it would work. This one is one click, even with it covered by my hand, and it works! :]
Here’s a test shot from last night..

The photos with Toast above were taken with the remote too~~
A remote is so much better than using the timer alone on your camera. This is because the camera will focus on whatever is in the frame when you press the button. If you’re not in the frame (because you’re pressing the button) it will focus on something else like the wall. This might mean you’ll end up slightly out of focus compared to the wall when you jump back in the photo before it snaps. The remote allows you to have the camera focus on you before it snaps the shot. :D
Also, it’s so much simpler just clicking the remote rather than running back and forth to the camera to press the shutter. :DD
My lovely outfit in the photos (hahaha..) is made up of pacman boxers and my boyfriend’s fake D&G shirt from China. And my hair was braided so that it would look like this the next day…

A shot from this morning.. no time to set up the camera and use the remote so it’s a standard camwhoring shot~ ;p
Okay, with this post I will let you in on a few things~
- Today I left my apartment to temporarily move back in with my parents for the summer holiday. I am now enjoying the company of two cats. The kitten in the top photo is my dad’s cat Badger. Toast is still grumpy about being back to visit him..
- This is probably one of the only times you will ever see me in comfy pants. I never, ever, wear sweatpants out in public and rarely ever get photographed wearing them. ;p I think I also don’t usually take photos with glasses on..
- In this next photo I am proving to my dad that I too can lift my cat into the air above my head. Except my dad only needs one hand to lift Badger into the air. I cannot wait for Badger to keep growing bigger. Toast is already over 11 pounds and Siberians can get up to either 11-14 or 10-17 pounds, depending where you look online…

And looking back on the photo I do realize that it is like the lion king, haha..
“I’m flying, whooo….”
…
Today was a day of snail mail suprises. c; After a long, 9am-7pm day of classes it’s always nice to find something waiting for me at home.
The first was a package from my parents with my easter basket. Actually, at first it looked more like an easter basket for Toast… but after I unpacked it I found all the people candy for me. ;p

The second package was from Leyla of sassyNpunk Boutique!

A while ago she found out from a post I made on facebook that I really liked their pastel bat hair clips, and she decided to send me one ah!

Cute packaging~

It’s so adorablee, can’t wait to match it with an outfit! Thank you Leyla~ ^o^
Here’s a small project I just finished for one of my classes.. The assignment was to create an instructional graphic on how to communicate four emotions to four non-humans.
I chose cats and cat stuff.
Instagram is finally on android!! Now I have somewhere to upload all the photos of Toast I take… ;p (Taken with instagram)
It’s spring break and gorgeous out! ;D I’ve gotten so much done today, and it’s not even dinner time yet. :]]
My mom helped me take a few photos.. my lovely red van Clifford’s Mom is in the background~

I got the top for $0.90 at a thrift store with Eva over winter break, and the shoes I got at the same thrift store for $5 year or two ago. Jeans were altered by me to be skinny jeans (they used to be bell-bottoms). :]
I took some photos of my mom too! Here’s my favorite:

Over break I get to play with my dad’s new kitten, Badger (he stole the name I wanted to give a future cat.. :p ) He’s so tiny and full of energy..

Only problem is that Toast is really grumpy now. He’s been an only child for awhile and isn’t used to the change, haha.. He thinks he fits in that little box, but you can’t really see it past his fur in the photo. ;p
