Hi everyone!
I don’t normally do this, but I was wondering if you could please vote for me in Lockshop’s Good or Evil Outfit Contest? :D It would mean so much to me to place! (The prizes are some lovely Lockshop wigs. c; )
To vote all you need to do is “like” this photo on facebook!
Thanks so much!! ♥ ♥ ♥
Here’s the final video for my wearble music visualizer! :D
I’m currently working on the portfolio page for it. It’s not quite finished yet, still needs a lot of info.. but if you are interested in creating your own I will be updating that page soon. :]
I’ve also been updating my portfolio page in general, so productive haha. I just wish there were more time in the day to do everything I need and want to hmm.. :c
!!!
Engineering Open House has finally come (and is almost gone)! I’ve sunk around 50-100 hours on this corset, and the worst part is it wasn’t even for class so I had to find time outside of classes to get it done. D: So if you guys were wondering why I haven’t been blogging much at all lately… this was the reason. ^^;
But it’s done now!! One of the ribs doesn’t work but I’m still excited that it’s actually working. :]] I’ll try to get some better video with a different song, as well as some more photos.
Laaa~~~ I’ve been wired on iced tea for the past week, time to relax again soon, haha. But here’s another photo for now that my friend Poh took for me. :D

Here’s some technical info if anyone is interested~
Input: Live volume feed from an electret mic
Microcontroller: Arduino Lilypad, powered by 5V
Output: 10 series of 4-5 LEDS, in parallel, powered by 9V and switched on/off with NPN transitors
Does this top look familiar? It’s actually the same top I diy-ed with studs and sharpie paint pen last summer. ;p I never ended up finding an occasion to wear it so I found another use for it!
I found out that you can remove sharpie paint pen with nail polish remover. The paint still leaves a white residue though, so I painted over the pleather parts with black fabric paint and now it looks as good as new. :] Then I painted the skeleton design over it all.
Wanna know what I plan on doing with this top now? :D I’m trying to turn it into a music visualizer that will light up to the frequencies of live music/ambient noise. Kind of similar to my last project (a hanging wall visualizer) but with completely different wiring.
With some guidance from one of my professors (as well as a ton of mistakes and some burning myself with bad wiring) I was able to make a circuit to light 50 LEDs at the exact same time. It’s not a pretty circuit but it gets the job done.
Outfit today :D
Sorry for looking so tired, I have no idea why I decided to wake up at 6am today..
Bone design was drawn on the $20 jacket from LA using Sharpie Oil Paint Pens (another photo here~), necklace was bargained down at Target because the glow paint had peeled off in store (yay!).
