  • Aww thank youu ♥ ♥

iamyourimage asked:
Thank you SO Much for making the “How to make an Eyeball shirt” tutorial! It looks really wonderful!

  • Aw no problem, glad you liked it! :]]

ophelia-superbi asked:
omg I love what you create oAo!!!! How can I buy fabrics that your lovely daddy brought you to Cina çWç?

  • Thank you! :] The only other places I’ve seen a lot of sparkley fabrics is in LA’s garment district (I’m sure places like New York have them too). But the fabrics my dad got were wayy cheaper in China

rocketraptor79 asked:
Have you got any of the negative effects of blogging? Like stalkers or hate mail? And if so, how do you deal with them? (I had to shut down my previous site coz of a stalker who was from my city and threatened to kill me, bothered the people on my list etc… nice :/)

  • I’ve only ever gotten a few hateful/mean messages, mostly about my hair or the way I dress. In those cases, I answer them and let them know that yes, maybe I look strange, but I’m happy doing it and you’re just proving that I look out of the ordinary (which is a plus in my book). Once in awhile I will have random people start posting comments or sending messages that aren’t necessarily hateful or threatening, but made me slightly uncomfortable so I blocked them (on facebook, or through my blog’s commenting system).
  • The only advice I really have is that if something is making you uncomfortable, do not hesitate to A) ignore the person, B) tell someone about it (not sure of your age, but it goes for any age really) or C) block the source that’s making you uncomfortable. And though it seems like a common warning I’ll repeat it here anyway; NEVER give out personal info like phone numbers, addresses, even your current school/location if you aren’t ABSOLUTELY sure of the situation. Even using your real name/last name is a bad idea if you are worried about stalkers. Hope that helps a little.. and I’m always here if you need more advice! :]

forsumahuffamuffin asked:
You know the galaxy print, I’m doing textiles in school&I wanted to know whether you thought it would be okay to do galaxy on a dress and what material would be best!x

  • If you want to handpaint the design, a non-sheer fabric with a rough surface (meaning not shiny like vinyl, because the paint won’t stay as well) would probably work best. If you are purchasing the fabric, any type of material would work depending on the type of dress you are making. :] I’ve seen galaxy designs at Spoonflower.com, and you can order many types of fabric there. Hope that helps!

mikewhoreanica asked:
For your ‘glitch art’ tutorial, what text editor did you use on windows and on your mac? i was trying to figure it out but I can’t seem to, haha!

  • I think I used TextEdit on the mac and Wordpad on Windows. :]

coconutpalm asked:
Heeeeey lovely Selina! I have a problem! I bought these white short sneackers and I don’t know what todo with them! Maybe you could help me in finding something cool to paint on them? You’re such a creative person! Thanks anyway and keep on beeing so great!

  • Hi! When I think of awesome, painted sneakers I two artists immediately come to mind: Bobsmade and Acrylicana. I can never look at their work without feeling colorful and inspired. ;p Hope that helps, and thanks! :]

quint-essentially asked:
Hi lovely! Wondering if the notes glitch on your giveaway was ever fixed, I’m also holding a giveaway on my other blog and I can’t see most of the notes :(

  • No I haven’t gotten it fixed yet. :c I can still only see the first 30 or so notes still..

melting-candles asked:
Hey lovely, when making the flower headpiece I was wondering how you end it? Thank you! xx

  • The floral tape should be sticky enough (when you stretch it) to just stay put when you end it. But if you’re worried it will start unraveling, you can brush a thin layer of glue over the ending. :]

oohlaalauren asked:
What dye(s) do you use to get that PERFECT lilac/lavender color? Too cute, miss! ;]

  • Aw thanks! I use a tiny bit of Pravana Chromasilk Violet and mix it with a TON of conditioner. :] Nikkilipstick has a great tutorial~

poopied00p asked:
i just have a question about where you buy your studs, i went to a local Micheal’s store but they didn’t have any?

  • The only local place I’ve been able to find studs at is Hobby Lobby. Other than that I buy them off ebay or etsy. :]

Your whole tutorial section—UNF. You’re amazing! <3

  • Aw haha, thank you! ♥

asian-peace-chicken-grease asked:
herro! How did you get your hair to go nicely blonde yet still looks healthy? I have dark asian hair and I want to go blonde so colours hold onto it better but don’t know how to get it to your blonde!!!!

  • Hi! My hair is naturally a dark brown and is pretty thick, but thinner than standard asian hair. It takes 2 or 3 rounds of bleach to get it that blond ( I use L’oreal Quick Blue bleach with Ion volume 30 developer, and leave it in around 20 minutes.)
  • The best time to bleach is after you haven’t washed your hair for awhile, so the natural oils can help protect it. It’s also best to wait a couple weeks between each time you bleach. You also want to strongly condition your hair after bleaching, and use a decent conditioner every time you wash your hair.
  • But there is always a risk of permanently damaging your with bleach! So if you have any doubts it is probably best to go to a professional. :] Hope that helps!

thought-creature asked:
I bet you get this all the time, but you are so perf!! You’re an inspiration on so many levels!! Keep it up :3

  • Aw you’re too sweet, thank you ♥ ♥

desiccated-thinking asked:
hi how did you sew on the yarn on the eyeball sweater you made? :) it’s pretty awesome and I wanna make my own but I’m a total dummy when it comes to sewing ‘cause I’m new to this DIY stuff :(

  • I used a variation of the chain stitch ( http://www.wikihow.com/Sew-Chain-Stitch ). I say variation because I’m pretty sure I was doing something completely wrong compared to what the actual stitch is supposed to be like. :p
  • As a DIY-er, just keep messing around until you get something you like. You can follow how-tos and such to get you started, but the most important thing is that you’re happy with your work. :D

stay13eautiful asked:
:D :D :D I WAS THE ONE AT FOREVER 21! I was honestly like freaking out when I saw you! So happy I got to meet you!!

  • Aw so glad I know your tumblr now! I really wanted to let you know you made my day, thank you! ♥

pullingmysocksup asked:
little kids should love you! play games with them, don’t ask them about school (because everyone always does), and teach them how to put studs on things, you’ll be cool forever :P

  • Haha thanks for the advice! I’m not sure if they would be interested in studs.. but maybe I could teach them to make something else? Or just stay shy forever.. haha :p

charlotte-stuff asked:
What them do you use for your blog? Desperatly looking for something else and fun to customize than what Tumblr has to offer. D:

  • I made my theme by editing the html and css of the basic Redux theme tumblr offers. :]

You are so talented. Even the few times when I don’t really like a piece you made (style wise), I admire your craftsmanship and creativity. I truly, TRULY hope you go far and are successful with clothing design (if that’s what you want to do).

  • I really try to put 100% into everything I do and it means so much to me to have someone take the time to send such a sweet message. Thank you so much. ♥

Anonymous asked:
hi selina! i just want to ask, if i want to temporarily have blue in my hair (like wash out blue dye or something) and i have really dark brown hair that looks black if not in the sun, could you recommend something to me please? :) i have school holidays coming up and i’d love to try and colour my hair for the first time! :) thank you!! ps. im in love with your cat and light purple (lilac?) hair!!! :)

  • There are many ways you can do this! Actual dyes like kool-aid and manic panic (and even pravana) won’t show up well on dark hair, but you can give these methods a try:
  1. I’ve never tried this myself yet, but I think hair chalk is a really good solution. This page at the Beuty Department has a ton of info on it.
  2. You can use blue hair spray. This is a little messy so make sure you have a towel wrapped around your neck/clothes. It also looks more natural if you brush it out slightly after it dries.
  3. Hair mascaras or colored eyelash mascaras work well for small sections of hair. Same as the hair spray though, it looks more natural if you brush it a little after drying.
  • With any of these methods (but especially hair spray) there is the possibility of getting dye on your clothes/pillow, so be careful! :]

Anonymous asked:
could you please do a tutorial on making union jack shorts or take a pic if you own a pair? xx :)

  • If I find a cheap pair of shorts at the thrift store I’ll grab them and give it a try. :]

boysbeambitious asked:
I just started following your blog and I’m already a huge fan. You’re so lovely and talented! I wish we could be IRL friends! :)

  • Aw you’re too sweet, thank you. n_n

Anonymous asked:
could you do a tutorial for the gorgeous skirt you made?! [the one with the rainbow fabric?] or if you’ve done one could you link me to it? [my net is incredibly slow and i just cant seem to get the tutorial page up!] you’re an inspiration, i cant wait to get crafty when i get home :) X

  • I actually used a store bought pattern for that skirt, Simplicity 2233. :] The important thing is that you make it in a smaller size; the original pattern is for a skirt that lies at the hips, so to make it high-waisted I cut the pattern 2 sizes smaller (6 instead of size 10).
  • To figure out what size you’ll need just measure the waistband piece to your own waist. Hope that helps!

dithymia asked:
I would love one of those “I’m From the Internet” shirts if you happen to have any in small mens! or just normal small. I’m not sure the actual difference between genders and sizing when it comes to T-shirts to be honest .___.

  • I’m actually not sure what size these shirts are, haha. They are marked as “adult M.” The width of the shirt laying flat is 19 inches and the length shoulder to hem is 25.5 inches, if that helps. :]

unicornsmaketheperfectbestfriend asked:
I want to paint a swim suit, will fabric paint work? or is there another type of pain i could use?

  • A fabric paint that you brush on will probably work best (not the squeeze bottle kind). The important thing is, if the swimsuit stretches a lot once you put it on, you should paint it while it is stretched (so probably while you are wearing it). But if the suit isn’t that stretchy you’ll be fine painting it laying flat. :]

massipulami asked:
if you have a t-shirt design, how do you print the design on the shirt?

  • Sometimes I handpaint designs using fabric paint and a paint brush. Other times I screenprint them. :]

harmoniousunity asked:
:D hey selina! i haven’t talked to you for a really long time. my goodness, the cuteness level of this new layout is ridiculously high. c; hope you’re doing well. :D

  • Aw thank you so much, I am doing great especially now that it is summer. :D

  • Aw, haha thank you ^^;

mallyandcaffeine asked:
What do you usually do with a belt after you de-stud it?

  • If the holes from the studs are too visible I’ll usually get rid of it, since I don’t actually wear belts. But you can always decorate them with something (rhinestones!) to cover up the holes and wear them. :]

theaquabats asked:
hello! :0 I was wondering where you got your skeleton leggings? :) They are so cute!

  • Hi! I got them at walmart during halloween time. :] I think you can get them on ebay too~

Sorry it’s been taking me so long to get to messages lately! I need to get better at balancing all of my projects, haha..

Anonymous asked:
Have you ever used Pravana hair dye? How long do it usually last if you have?

  • Yes, Pravana is my favorite. :]  When I just use it straight (not diluting it with conditioner for a pastel color) I’ve never had it completely wash out on its own. It will fade eventually but it’s the longest lasting brand I’ve tried so far. Even with some bleaching the color stays slightly. I love it!

Anonymous asked:
Hi, I really enjoyed reading and doing the tutorials you posted. <3 Keep it up! Btw, could you post a tutorial about “how to make bows using fabric”? You’ve been my inspiration in DIY. Thank you! Sorry that I’m anonymous cos I feel embarrassed about talking like shit. Anyways I’m looking forward to that tutorial! :)

  • Thank you! And don’t be embarrassed! :] If I have extra time in the future I’ll definitely try to do a bow tutorial~

anti-labelrevolution asked:
aw how did you and your bf met? so cute you two btw :3

  • Aw thank you! c; We actually lived in the same dorm when I transferred back to this university last spring. Then this past fall he randomly asked me out for coffee, and we started dating in february. :]

supahhhstar asked:
i love the galaxy chiffon crop top you made! how did you make it? i love your work btw. (:

  • Thanks! I got the fabric in LA’s fashion/textile district, and made my own sewing pattern for the top. :] I think spoonflower.com has some galaxy fabric, but it’s a little overpriced. :o

foreverseeingflowers asked:
You’re so crafty and fun and omg. I don’t even know what to say, I’ve been stalking your blog for about six hours :/ Didn’t sound as creepy in my head but I just wanted to tell you how amazing you are at being a cute little crafty machine! :3

  • Aw you are too sweet, thank you so much! ^o^

  • Thank you!~!

thewinkingelephant asked:
hi! so i was just introduced to the pokebra (lookin into making my own since i read your tutorial) and i wanted your opinion. markers or paint? also, when you washed the painted bra, how did that turn out?

  • I have some info about washing paint/marker here~ Personally I prefer paints :] Hope it goes well!

thisfeelsalright asked:
OH MY! how on earth did you get that colour hair?! (from the pictures about your cardigan/backpack) I have wanted that colour for so long but have no idea how to get it, please please help! xxx

  • I think I had really fade pink (almost white) hair and then put blue/purple diluted dye in it. The photo was probably a couple weeks after that so it was faded to that blue/white. Sorry that’s not more helpful, I never really know what my hair will decide to be colored next.. :o

thisiscuriosity asked:
Every time you like one of my posts I feel so flattered :) you’re my favorite DIY-er on the internet :D I’ve been thinking of starting an etsy shop, got any tips for success?

  • Aw you are too kind! ^^; Here are some things I’ve found importan for running an etsy shop:
  1.  Add items regularly. That way your items will shop up at the beginning of searches. Also it’s just good to always be creating new things in general. :]
  2. Be quick with sending things out. It’s also nice if you put some thought into your packaging; cute packaging can make someone’s day and give them more reason to talk about your shop.
  3. Do something you enjoy! Don’t try to start a shop of something you aren’t interested in. If you love what you’re making, people will see it in your creations and shop

Hope that helps, and good luck!
