A long overdue messages answered post, sorry about that everyone! As always, feel free to send me questions and comments. :] I usually answer non-anonymous messages more quickly and save the anonymous ones for weekly posts like this~

victoriastarz asked:
gahh I don’t think I looked at your page enough when I came across it, I went all the way to page 86 o.o Anyways, you are very creative, and nice colors and I love your cat Toast, so so cute and fluffy omg haha :) cute name too. And your so talented. Omg, i’v done some sewing before and loved crafts but never did anything like you haha, very good. :O Anyways :) nice page.

  • Aww, that means a lot to me, thank you so much! ♥

live-in-techni-color asked:
I like your new theme, It’s like I’m in the future :3 hehe. I like how you included yourself on your banner on top :D

  • Yay, thanks for the feedback! Glad to know you like it c;

Anonymous asked:
your new theme seriously hurts my eyes

  • Hahaha, whoops, was still in the process of fixing up the colors, hopefully it’s slightly more bearable now. ;p

wicked-i-am asked:
i really dig the new look of your blog

  • Yay thank you! c;

Anonymous asked:
Are those Minnie mouse sweats? You’re frickin’ cute.

  • Yep! Super fuzzy and comfy too. c; Thanks!

waltergropius asked:
People like you are what make the internet a great place.

  • Aw, haha thank you ^^;

mallyandcaffeine asked:
What do you usually do with a belt after you de-stud it?

  • If the holes from the studs are too visible I’ll usually get rid of it, since I don’t actually wear belts. But you can always decorate them with something (rhinestones!) to cover up the holes and wear them. :]

theaquabats asked:
hello! :0 I was wondering where you got your skeleton leggings? :) They are so cute!

  • Hi! I got them at walmart during halloween time. :] I think you can get them on ebay too~

Sorry it’s been taking me so long to get to messages lately! I need to get better at balancing all of my projects, haha..

Anonymous asked:
Have you ever used Pravana hair dye? How long do it usually last if you have?

  • Yes, Pravana is my favorite. :]  When I just use it straight (not diluting it with conditioner for a pastel color) I’ve never had it completely wash out on its own. It will fade eventually but it’s the longest lasting brand I’ve tried so far. Even with some bleaching the color stays slightly. I love it!

Anonymous asked:
Hi, I really enjoyed reading and doing the tutorials you posted. <3 Keep it up! Btw, could you post a tutorial about “how to make bows using fabric”? You’ve been my inspiration in DIY. Thank you! Sorry that I’m anonymous cos I feel embarrassed about talking like shit. Anyways I’m looking forward to that tutorial! :)

  • Thank you! And don’t be embarrassed! :] If I have extra time in the future I’ll definitely try to do a bow tutorial~

snowcappedlove asked:
THAT PUSHEEN TATTOO IS THE BEST

  • Aw thank you! It was actually a badly planned (too believable..) april fool’s joke, haha. ^^;

anti-labelrevolution asked:
aw how did you and your bf met? so cute you two btw :3

  • Aw thank you! c; We actually lived in the same dorm when I transferred back to this university last spring. Then this past fall he randomly asked me out for coffee, and we started dating in february. :]

supahhhstar asked:
i love the galaxy chiffon crop top you made! how did you make it? i love your work btw. (:

  • Thanks! I got the fabric in LA’s fashion/textile district, and made my own sewing pattern for the top. :] I think spoonflower.com has some galaxy fabric, but it’s a little overpriced. :o

foreverseeingflowers asked:
You’re so crafty and fun and omg. I don’t even know what to say, I’ve been stalking your blog for about six hours :/ Didn’t sound as creepy in my head but I just wanted to tell you how amazing you are at being a cute little crafty machine! :3

  • Aw you are too sweet, thank you so much! ^o^

krasivayadevushkaa asked:
You and your mom are both so gorgeous!

  • Thank you!~!

thewinkingelephant asked:
hi! so i was just introduced to the pokebra (lookin into making my own since i read your tutorial) and i wanted your opinion. markers or paint? also, when you washed the painted bra, how did that turn out?

  • I have some info about washing paint/marker here~ Personally I prefer paints :] Hope it goes well!

thisfeelsalright asked:
OH MY! how on earth did you get that colour hair?! (from the pictures about your cardigan/backpack) I have wanted that colour for so long but have no idea how to get it, please please help! xxx

  • I think I had really fade pink (almost white) hair and then put blue/purple diluted dye in it. The photo was probably a couple weeks after that so it was faded to that blue/white. Sorry that’s not more helpful, I never really know what my hair will decide to be colored next.. :o

thisiscuriosity asked:
Every time you like one of my posts I feel so flattered :) you’re my favorite DIY-er on the internet :D I’ve been thinking of starting an etsy shop, got any tips for success?

  • Aw you are too kind! ^^; Here are some things I’ve found importan for running an etsy shop:
  1.  Add items regularly. That way your items will shop up at the beginning of searches. Also it’s just good to always be creating new things in general. :]
  2. Be quick with sending things out. It’s also nice if you put some thought into your packaging; cute packaging can make someone’s day and give them more reason to talk about your shop.
  3. Do something you enjoy! Don’t try to start a shop of something you aren’t interested in. If you love what you’re making, people will see it in your creations and shop

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Sorry I let these accumulate for so long.. haha. ^^; Also, some of the non-anonymous questions I didn’t post here and just answered straight through the ask box. :]

Anonymous asked:
Do things you sold previously, are they going to come back?

  • Yes, many of my items are restocked after they sell out. :D But sometimes my items are test-runs or just one-of-a-kind pieces, so they will not come back, sorry! :c

Anonymous asked:
omg is that the hp touchsmart tmt2? the one thats a laptop and can be turned down to a touch pad? how much was it? when did u get it bc i cant find it anymore

  • Yes it is. :] I purchased it about a year and a half ago. It was actually pretty affordable (cheaper than a Mac), especially since I found a coupon online for HP. I think they may have stopped selling them but I’m not certain, sorry. :c

courtneyybabyyy asked:
Hiii! I found your tutorial on making the galaxy shirt and fell in love! I’m gonna gather up the supplies and give it a shot in the next few days, thanks for the idea!:)

  • Awesome, hope it goes well! And thanks c;

hiwhatever asked:
Your hair looked gorgeous before, but I LOVE it now! It really suits you x

  • Aw, thank you so much! <3

a-d-r-i asked:
Seriously loved your hair always but when it was platinum blonde with a quarter brunette I found it soooo cute! I might have to try that reversed :P <3

  • Thanks! And I think it would look great reversed :D

Anonymous asked:
I really want to dye my hair pink/ blue because of you. And now all my friends think im weird :3 hahah

  • As long as you will be happy with it I say go for it! ;p

Anonymous asked:
hi! i was wondering if you had any tutorials on how to sew/make a collar for jean vests? i want to put leopard print fabric around the collar but i’m not exactly sure how to do it… help?

  • I’m not sure exactly what kind of collar you’re looking to make, but I found a ton of tutorials on google here~ :D

Anonymous asked:
Have you thought about maybe … uhh… lightening your eyebrows? You look like you’re wearing a blonde wig…

  • I’m too lazy, and the thought of bleach that close to my eyes terrifies me. Also it doesn’t really bother me that they don’t match. :p

jennovation asked:
omg, i just found your blog five minutes ago and im already so obsessed! <3

  • Haha, thank you! :D

Anonymous asked:
why did you change your bangs?

  • I wanted to try something new~

Anonymous asked:

fuckinmajestic asked: i think it would be very cool if you sold customizable coupons like the one you made for your boyfriend (congrats by the way ;D) or make a tutorial.

  • That’s a really good idea, but I’m afraid I don’t have the time to make custom ones sorry! (I think mine took around 6 hours.) ^^; But even though it was time consuming, it’s super easy to make your own! All I did was cut out my coupon from a couple layers of fabric, embroidered some of it with sewing thread and then painted the rest. Here’s a link to the Craftzine embroidery archives for tips and ideas~

compulsions asked: I might have squeeked a bit when I saw that you were following me *-* You are such a great source of inspiration!

  • Aww, thank you so much! I love the photos you post, they are quite inspiring~

Anonymous asked: Where do you go thrifting??? I can never find stuff as cheap as you do!!

  • My favorites are usually Salvation Army thrift stores, but honestly even some of those can be range from really expensive to cheap. You just have to go to a bunch of different stores until you find one with affordable prices. :] Also, I tend not to buy anything too expensive, even at my favorite stores. That’s why all the thrifted items I post are so cheap. ;p

Anonymous asked: your boyfriend is super cute!

  • I think so too. c: (Though I must admit I made sure he didn’t send me this anonymously before I ansewered it. ;p )

Anonymous asked: hey :) can you maybe do a tutorial on how to sew bodysuits? and one on screenprinting (i want to try but i don’t know what glue or paint to use)? thanks ^_^

  • Ughh I’ve been meaning to do a bodysuit tutorial for a really long time, and it still may be awhile before I get the time to make one. :o But here is a screenprinting Instructable I’ve been recommending to people. It’s the most cost-efficient way that teaches you the basics really nicely. :]

thisfeelsalright asked: Please please please make a tutorial on the bow-tie bandeau top! lots of love x

  • If I can dig up the pattern I made I’ll try and post it sometime!

dead-c00l asked: Do you have any tips for making your own dress patterns? please and thank you! :)

  • If you’re just starting out, a nice way to learn is to buy a simple dress pattern and practice altering it to be something else (maybe to match a picture of a dress you are trying to copy). After you are comfortable with that, you can learn to make patterns from scratch using a book that teaches pattern drafting. :]

nextbestthingtome asked: not sure why tumblr won’t let me ask this from my side account… but your blog inspired me to go out and be creative, so i painted my vacuum haha. heyitsforever.tumblr.com/post/17532632271/robot-vacuum-dressed-up-as-peppermint-butler-from

  • Hahahah, it’s so cutee I love it! ;p

mallyandcaffeine asked: Do you think you could do some DIY rave gear? You’re REALLY talented and the stud bra that you made was pretty good too! Or if you just made them and put them in your etsy shop? (:

  • Aw thank you! I wish I had the time, but with school and my etsy shop I don’t think I’d be able to get into rave gear. :]

strigoiaca asked: Hey, i just saw that you posted about a 50’s style dress, would you happen to know any places i could find a good 40’s style dress pattern? Thank you <3

  • Both Vogue and Simplicity sell 40s style dress patterns (best to buy them in fabric stores during sales). :] You can also search for 40s dress patterns on etsy under “Supplies.”
how did you edit your picture with 3 of you

With photoshop magic~~

Haha, but really.. I started with these three photos (completely untouched) of me on top of our lovely kitchen heater:

I didn’t actually take them with the intention of photoshopping them together, but the background ended up so clean and light that I decided it would be simple enough to do. :]

Here is roughly what I did:

  1. adjusted the levels of all 3 images until the lighting of each was very similar
  2. used the clone tool to get rid of extras like the outlet
  3. cut and pasted the photos together
  4. smoothed and blended where the images overlap with clone in varying opacities

And… I got this. :D

Photoshopping just takes a lot of practice and messing around with tools. There are at least 10 different ways you can do the exact same thing. :]
