I’ve never had a cat or dog before in my life, only caged animals like fish, hermit crabs and my bunnies. And a duckling.
I have allergies and asthma so it makes living with animals a little difficult. Careful housekeeping on my part makes it doable (I lived with a cat when my ex-boyfriend and I lived together).
If it was up to me I’d just adopt a normal cat from a shelter.. but I have to consider my dad’s allergies (for when I visit home), which are much more severe than my own, as well as my future roommate’s allergies. So after help from Julie and a lot of research, I’ve found that Siberian cats have unusually low levels of the allergen that effects humans. Allergic reactions vary from person to person and cat to cat, so tomorrow I’m bringing my dad along to visit a Siberian cat I’m interested in.
Having a pet that can live where I live, that I can love and (hopefully) will love me back I feel would make my life slightly less stressful. I could move anywhere but as long as it’s me and my cat it’d be home. And it’d be an added bonus if I could pick him up and cuddle without having to take a shower right afterward..
I’m holding my breath for tomorrow, wish me luck! :x
