Sooo.. remember that bottle of wine my friend gave me? This is what happens when two roommates want to open it when they don’t own a corkscrew.
After googling “how to open wine without a corkscrew,” we decided that hitting it against the wall in a shoe was not for us. So we poked holes into the cork with a skewer to (theoretically) release some of the pressure in the bottle, and then pushed the cork down into the bottle with a fatter skewer.
There was still a lot of pressure left in the bottle.

ME and my roommate literally just went through this last semester. We carved the cork out with a wood carving tool. didn’t end well.
