Why do you voluntarily try to be "hipster"?

Honestly, I don’t think there’s any such thing as an “accidental” hipster. I’m pretty confident when I say that most hipsters are intentionally hipster, whether they’ll admit it or not. (Actually, I’ve heard many people say that hipsters try hard to make it look like they don’t try hard or care about their appearance.)
I honestly don’t consider myself a hipster, though my friends enjoy arguing otherwise. Sometimes I find it fun to wear distressed/floral/other current hipster stuff just because I like how it looks, but normally I’m a bit more colorful/happy(?) than the standard hipster style.
Don’t get me wrong though. I love hipsters and enjoy pretending to be one occasionally.
