my favorite fabric..
I think may be taffeta. :]
But the linen look solids from Joann Fabrics are pretty useful. :p
At the beginning of the year while my roommate and I were surfing online, I stumbled upon these adorable shoes. I didn’t get them because I didn’t need them and I don’t usually spend that much on shoes (I’ve also never bought shoes online before).
When I finally decided on cosplaying as Sophie I re-found the same shoes, completely on accident. ;p I ordered the color “begie.” Even though the brown shoes would be a better match to Sophie’s I decided to go with the lighter ones because I knew I’d wear them more often after the cosplay.
Only thing is when I received them the color was much different from the pair online. :o They were almost white instead of the dirty tan in the original photo. I really didn’t like the white so I decided to dye them, using a mixture of black and brown acrylic paint and water. It was enough water so that the mixture stained the canvas rather than covering it.
And here’s the result. :D The boot on the left in the photo is the stained one and the boot on the right is the original. The color is much more even now that it’s dried, it’s still a little wet in the photo. I’m really happy with how it turned out! c:
I’ve been wanting to learn more about post-processing (is that the right term?) photos in photoshop lately. I followed this tutorial by Sx2 on deviantart and ended up with this. :] This is the first time I used textures created by others. I ended up using two textures from “textures 65” by Sanami276.
My Sophie costume so far…
My boyfriend and I are going as Howl and Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle to Acen this year. :D My dream come true, having a boyfriend who will cosplay with me. c:
I’ve never really worn makeup, except for the occasional dance or costume. But, I realized recently why I didn’t enjoy putting makeup on - I just didn’t like the colors I had (I also realized I prefer matte colors to shiny ones). So now that I have some fun colors I’ve been playing around a bit.. this one reminds me of a sunflower. :]

A project I did for the Time section of our Design class earlier this semester. The portion of song is from “She Don’t Use Jelly” by the Flaming Lips.
In high school the boxes of pastels we got were from Dick Blick. They contained what we thought were useless highlighter colors.. until we took this class. Eva started drawing with them because they had gone unused, and it made me want to try them as well. Here’s the result. ;p
I think I really like the acidic look they give the bear.
Oh, and he was dubbed “party bear.”
